DESCRIPTION:Audiene: AAAs\, Assessors\, and Members of Committees \n\nCohosted by:\n\nOffice of the Vice-Provost\, Faculty & Academic Life (VPFAL)\nToronto Initiative for Diversity & Excellence (TIDE)\n\nSession Leaders:\n\nBojana Stefanovic\, Director of Engagement\, TIDE; Professor\, Dept of Medical Biophysics\, Temerty Faculty of Medicine; Senior Scientist\, Sunnybrook Research Institute\nAlison Keith\, University Professor\, Dept of Classics and Women’s Studies\n\n\n\n\nThis workshop is intended for Provostial\, SGS\, and Decanal assessors; members of any committee that involves peer assessment (e.g.\, search\, PTR\, tenure\, continuing status); as well as Deans\, Principals\, Chairs\, and Directors. Please note that we are unable to accommodate staff\, students\, post-docs\, sessional lecturers\, or clinical faculty not serving on a faculy search commiteee\, at this session. \nThe goals of this session are to: \n\n\n\n\nProvide you with the tools to identify bias\nIntroduce you to some practical strategies to help you interrupt bias in the moment\nDiscuss what a unit might consider/discuss/put in place to help mitigate bias in academic review processes and assessments\n\n\n\n\nPre-work: The VPFAL Office recommends that all search\, tenure\, continuing status review\, and promotion committee members\, faculty on PTR committees\, and assessors review these the online Unconscious Bias Modules before attending this session (unless you have previously attended TIDE’s Unconscious Bias 101 and 102 talks). \nPlease note: Registered attendees will receive the virtual meeting link a day or two prior to the session. \n➡️ Register here \nIf your plans change after you register\, please email vpfal.prof.dev@utoronto.ca.
